ABOUT ABOUT

Come network with UW Bothell students and alumni who are interested in STEM organizations.

The networking event begins at 5:00 pm. The first 15 minutes will include a quick instructional session for students on how to network and employer introductions, then the event will open up for you to casually mix with the participants while they practice networking!

There will be light food and beverages and an open floor for mingling with the participants and other guests until 6:30 pm.

EVENT OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the networking mixer is to educate students about networking, and then allow them to practice their new networking skills. This event provides the opportunity for students and alumni to mingle with those who in a variety of different science and technology focused industries, including but not limited to high-tech, engineering, computer science, and more! This is not strictly a hiring event, but a great way for students of all STEM majors to meet employees/employers and familiarize themselves with companies that are located in Bothell and the Greater Seattle area.

Not only will this event allow for the participants to practice networking, it will also give you the opportunity to promote upcoming job and internship opportunities to the students participating at the mixer. It is also an excellent opportunity to network with other professionals in the Seattle area.

As a guest at this event, you may need to take more responsibility for facilitating conversation than would be necessary at other events. Our participants will be looking to you as a model for social skills and effective networking interactions.

WHAT TO BRING:
The only item you need to bring is your business cards to exchange with participants at the event. If you would like to bring a small amount of marketing materials (such as a stack of brochures), there will be a table set up to leave information for those interested. Please do not bring any additional material.
